Day: Saturdays
Practices: Immediately prior to games on Saturdays
Start Time: Sessions will run 10:00-11:30am
Who Plays: Boys and Girls ages 15-30 with intellectual and/or physical disabilities. ASU will be providing college students to act as partners to these athletes.
If you/your child falls outside of this range and would like to participate, please reach out and discuss it with us. We’d love to hear if you believe you would be a good fit and we will try to work with you.
Where: Arizona State University- Tempe at the Sun Devil Fitness Complex Intramural Fields
Program Fee: $100 (includes uniforms to keep, and covers field use, equipment costs, insurance, etc)
If this fee would prohibit participation, please reach out about scholarships which are available (Karl 480-233-9370).
A multi-child discount of $20 is automatically applied to registrations for the same season
Registration Deadline: An early bird discount of $10 will apply through 8/1/21. Registration will be limited to 32 participants.

Format
The League will be Co-Ed. Teams will be constructed of athletes (persons with physical or intellectual disabilities) and partners (ASU student volunteers). Games will be 5 on 5 with at least 3 of the 5 players having a disability.
If you have concerns about your child’s ability to participate, or if you feel like your child would be a good fit but doesn’t meet the age range as described, please let us know. Our goal is to adapt play to allow any athlete to participate in a meaningful way.
This program is designed to teach players the fundamentals of the game and how to work as a team. Rules will be adapted as needed to accommodate the strengths and limitations of the children on each team and will be fluid. We will loosely be following the Special Olympics Flag Football Rules throughout the season.

COVID Policies
As we are currently living in an ever changing environment, our safety protocol are subject to change based on the requirements of our facilities. At a minimum, we will be conducting temperature screenings and symptom questionnaires at all events. Coaches will wear masks. Registered participants will receive a full list of policies closer to the start date. If you have questions or recommendations we would love to hear from you.
What's Included?
Our season runs 8 weeks long. Week 1 will be a skills assessment day where we will try to pair participants onto teams in which everyone is able to make a meaningful contribution. Sessions during weeks 2-7 will consist of 45 minutes of skills development, and 45 minutes of playing games. Week 8 will be a tournament day and be all games.
Participants will be supplied with equipment and jerseys needed to play the game. The jerseys will be yours to keep. Your registration fee also covers field/facility rental, and insurance. There are no hidden costs. Kids just need to wear shoes appropriate for a grass field (sneakers or non-metal cleats).

The cost is set at $100 for your first child. A sibling discount is in place so that the price for adding the first sibling receive a $20 discount and so are $80 each.
If cost is a barrier for your family, please do not hesitate to reach out. We really want everyone to be able to participate, and scholarships are available.
